J. Chelameswar, C.J.—When these matters were taken up for hearing on 26.11.2010, Sri. Renjith Thampan, the learned Additional Advocate General, placed a notification in G.O.(P) No. 40/2010/F&CSD dated 18th November, 2010 by which an amendment is made to the Kerala Rationing Order. The learned Counsel appearing in all these cases submit that in view of the amendment, the various questions of law raised in this batch of cases need not be adjudicated, but the Respondents should examine the claim of each one of these Appellants/Petitioners in the light of the amended Rationing Order.

In the circumstances, we do not see any reason to proceed further with this batch of matters and all these cases are disposed of directing the Respondents to consider the claim of each one of the Appellants/Petitioners in these writ appeals and writ petitions in the light of the Kerala Rationing Order as amended by G.O.(P) No. 40/2010/F&CSD dated 18th November, 2010 within a period of eight weeks from today. Until a finalization is taken in this regard pursuant to the direction given by us today, the status quo obtaining as on today shall be maintained.
