B.S. Verma, J.—Heard learned Counsel for the Petitioners as well as learned Brief Holder for the State of Uttarakhand.

By means of this writ petition, the Petitioners have sought a writ of Mandamus commanding the Respondent Nos. 1, 2 and 3 to provide protection to the life and liberty of the Petitioners.

Both the Petitioners, namely, Nisha and Bharat Kumar are present in the Court today, who have been identified by Mr. Ajay Veer Pundir, Advocate. They have stated before the Court that they have married to each other with their consent and now their parents and relatives are harassing them.

Learned Counsel for the Petitioners has stated that the Petitioners have already filed a representation before the Senior Superintendent of Police, Haridwar on 10.1.2011 in order to provide them police protection, but no steps have yet been taken by the concerned authority.

On due consideration of the submissions of the Petitioners and on perusal of relevant documents available on record, in view of the principle of law laid down in Lata Singh Vs. State of U.P. and Another, , it is directed that since the representation of the Petitioners is pending before the Senior Superintendent of Police, Haridwar regarding police protection, the same shall be considered and police protection, as sought by the Petitioners, shall be provided to them. It is further directed that the Petitioners may also make a representation before the Station House Officer, P.S. Kotwali, Haridwar, District Haridwar. If such a representation is made by the Petitioners, protection shall be given to them.

With the aforesaid directions, the instant writ petition is disposed of finally.

All the pending applications stand disposed of.
