Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner.
The petitioner is stated to be the widow of one Puttaswamy, who was an erstwhile employee of the second respondent-College. He is stated to have died in harness, Immediately thereafter the petitioner had sought for appointment on compassionate grounds, since her daughter was a minor and was not eligible to seek such employment The respondents are stated to have called for better particulars. In spite of producing the same, the respondents have not taken any steps, On further enquiry, it was found that another woman claiming to be the wife of the petitioner''s husband had lodged a claim and therefore by an endorsement as per Annexure-"D" to the writ petition, the petitioner was directed to obtain a decree, declaring her status, from a civil Court. It is in that background, the petitioner is before this Court
Having regard to the dispute as to the status of the widow of the erstwhile employee of the second respondent-College, this is not an appropriate forum that can decide the question Accordingly, the petitioner is left. to her remedies. The question of directing the respondents to provide her with compassionate appointment and other benefits does not arise at this stage.
Accordingly, the petition stands disposed of.
