1.

In this petition, the petitioner, who had been allotted the work of collection of parking fees at Jeep Stand to Mawlai Bridge in the city of

Shillong, has stated the grievance that despite his adhering to the terms of the work order and making the requisite payment, suddenly the work

was allotted to the respondent No. 2 by the order dated 23.01.2017.

2.

Learned counsel for the respondents - Shillong Municipal Board has pointed out that upon consideration of the representation of the petitioner,

the questioned order has been withdrawn on 02.02.2017 and the petitioner has been allowed to resume the work in question until finalization of the

proper contract or until 31.10.2017, whichever is earlier.

3.

Learned counsel for the petitioner also submits that he has received a copy of such order today only and frankly submits that with such an order,

no cause survives in this petition.

4.

This petition is, therefore, treated as infructuous and stands dismissed as such.

5.

However, the larger issue as regards proper regulations of parking in the city of Shillong is left open, to be taken up in appropriate proceedings.
