1.

Petitioner herein seeks quashing of FIR No. 0332/2022 dated 27.10.2022, registered at Police Station Chandni Mahal, for commission of offences under Sections 324/506 IPC, along with all consequential proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise arrived at between the parties.

2.

The abovesaid FIR was registered on the basis of complaint of Mohd. Amaan who was, at the relevant time running a cosmetic shop. There was some dispute between him and the accused and on 25.10.2022, the accused came to him and gave him a blow on his right cheek with a blade.

3.

It was in the abovesaid factual backdrop that FIR for offences under Sections 324/506 IPC was registered.

4.

Charge-sheet has been filed, albeit, charges are yet to be framed.

5.

Respondent No.2 is present in Court and he has been duly identified by Investigating Officer.

6.

Copy of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) dated 09.12.2025 is on record.

7.

Respondent No.2 states that he has entered into the abovesaid settlement out of his own free will, without any coercion and influence from any corner whatsoever and therefore, he would have ‘no objection’ if FIR in question is quashed. He submits that he does not seek any compensation from the accused. The cut mark, a prominent one, is visible on his cheek but he reiterates settlement terms and prays for quashing of FIR.

8.

In view of the settlement arrived at between the parties, continuing with criminal proceedings would serve no useful purpose, especially, when dispute does not involve any public interest and is, primarily, private in nature. In any case, even the complainant does not wish to press any charges against the petitioner.

9.

Accordingly, exercising inherent powers vested in this Court under Section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, it is deemed appropriate to quash the instant FIR.

10.

Consequently, to secure the ends of justice, FIR No. 0332/2022 dated 27.10.2022, registered at Police Station Chandni Mahal, for commission of offences under Sections 324/506 IPC, along with all consequential proceedings arising therefrom, is, hereby, quashed, subject to petitioner depositing total cost of Rs. -20,000/- with Delhi High Court Legal Services Authority.

11.

Proof of deposit of cost alongwith original affidavits and MoU of the parties, copies of which have been placed on record in the present proceedings, shall be submitted before the learned Trial Court so that these become part of Trial Court Record.

12.

The petition stands disposed of in aforesaid terms.
