Judgment

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is also present in his chamber and he identified her. It is submitted that petitioner is major and wants to complete her studies. She intends to participate in competition for her selection in the Police Department. Petitioner's parents and relatives are compelling her to solemnize marriage against her wishes. They are forcing the petitioner to solemnize marriage so that they can earn money out of such marriage. Petitioner is also under threat from them and may be subjected to 'honour killing'. Petitioner prayed for protection. She is ready to get her statement recorded under Section 164 of the Cr.P.C. In this backdrop, she may be protected.
Shri Dalal fairly submits that he will obtain instructions on this aspect and in the event petitioner's contention is correct, the Police Department will ensure that her life liberty and dignity is not put to jeopardy.
Considering the aforesaid, list this matter on 19th April, 2021.
In the meantime, the respondents will obtain instructions and in the event petitioner's contentions are found to be correct, take necessary steps to protect the petitioner.
