Rakesh Tiwari, J.—Heard learned Counsel for the petitioner, Standing Counsel appearing for respondents No. 1 and 2, and perused the record.

The contention of Counsel for the petitioner is that the petitioner applied for licence for holding D.B.B.L. gun on 22.2.2008. The District Magistrate, Sant Ravi Das Nagar asked for report from concerned authorities who have submitted their report in favour of the petitioner recommending for grant of licence.

It is stated that even then no orders on the said application of the petitioner have been passed by the District Magistrate and it is still pending before him since May, 2008. Learned Counsel for the petitioner states that he requested the District Magistrate to pass order within four days on the application of the petitioner pursuant to Government Order No. 1644/4322002 dated 23.7.2002 which provides that any file for orders at any level should not remain pending more than four working days. The aforesaid Government order is as under:

It appears that the District Magistrates do not know about the Government Order.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this writ petition is disposed of with the direction to the District Magistrate, Mau to decide the application/representation of the petitioner pending before him within four days from the date of receipt of this order.
