The petitioner has submitted Ext.P1 application for re-issuance of passport which had expired on 21.10.2018. Pursuant to Ext.P1 application, the
petitioner was served with Ext.P4 show cause notice dated 07.12.2021 stating that there is adverse police verification report and to show cause why
the passport shall not be impounded. The petitioner has approached this Court challenging Ext.P4 show cause notice contending that the notice is
vague and that the petitioner has not suppressed any materials while submitting Ext.P1 application.
Heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner and Smt.Krishna, learned CGSC for the respondent.
Smt.Krishna, learned CGSC submits that Ext.P4 show cause notice has been issued on the basis of adverse police verification report and if the
petitioner submits explanation to Ext.P4 show cause notice, indicating the grievance highlighted in this writ petition, the respondent will consider the
same in accordance with law.
Accordingly, there will be a direction to the petitioner to submit explanation to Ext.P4 show cause notice within a period of two weeks from today.
On receipt of the same, the respondent shall pass appropriate orders on Ext.P4, within a month thereafter. The petitioner shall produce a copy of this
writ petition with exhibits along with the certified copy of the judgment before the respondents.
The writ petition is disposed of with the above directions.
