Prayer in this petition is for issuance of a writ in the nature of habeas corpus for releasing the detenues, namely, Raman, Vicky, Nikka @ Sandeep,

Salma and Reena from the illegal custody of the respondent(s).

Reply by way of affidavit of Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime), Ludhiana, on behalf of respondents has been filed in Court today and the

same is taken on record. As per this reply, Raman and Sandeep Kumar @ Nikka were arrested on 17.03.2018, in case FIR No.06 dated 09.01.2018,

by the police of P.S.Daresi, Ludhiana. It is further stated that Vikram Singh @ Vicky was also arrested on 17.03.2018, in case FIR No. 53 dated

26.03.2017, by the police of P.S.Sadar, Ludhiana. It is also stated in the reply that the present petition has been filed after registration of abovesaid

FIRs. All these three persons are on police remand as they are involved in about 25 more FIRs.

Learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Rampal Singh, further submits that the aforesaid three persons are also proclaimed offenders in some

of the FIRs. He further submits that two of the alleged detenue, namely, Salma and Reena are not involved in any FIR as per the investigation

conduced by the police and they were never taken in custody by any of the authorities.

In view of the same, this petition is rendered infructuous.
