Savitri Devi vs The Rent Tribunal and Another

Vijay Bishnoi, J.—By this writ petition, the petitioner seeks a direction to the respondent No. 2-Rent Tribunal, Sri Ganganagar to ensure the expeditious disposal of the Rent Petition No. 32/2007 preferably within a period of six months. It is to be noticed that in terms of the provisions of Section 15(5) of the Rajasthan Rent Control Act, 2001, the petition preferred before the Rent Tribunal is required to be disposed of within a time limit.

The petition, preferred by the petitioner before the Rent Tribunal, Sri Ganganagar which relates to the eviction of the tenant from the suit premises, is pending since 2007. In this view of the matter, having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, this writ petition is disposed of at the motion stage itself without issuing notice to the respondents with a direction to the Rent Tribunal, Sri Ganganagar to ensure expeditious disposal of the Rent Petition No. 32/2007 preferred by the petitioner, preferably within a period of one year from the date of production of the certified copy of this order, strictly in accordance with law.
