The petitioner has approached this Court being aggrieved by the fact that Ext.P6 application filed by the petitioner for land assignment, on 30.12.2014 has not so far been considered by the competent authority.
The learned Government Pleader on instructions would submit that Ext.P6 application has not been received by the competent authority, namely the Tahsildar, Devikulam. It is submitted that Ext.P6 application is dated 30.12.2014 and applications for assignment of land were invited only in the year 2017. It is submitted that if petitioner is to make a proper application within a period of two weeks from today, the said application will be considered and disposed of, on its merits, within a period of six months from the date of receipt of the application.
Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned senior Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, this writ petition will stand disposed of directing that, if the petitioner files an application for assignment in compliance with the Rules before the 1st respondent within a period of two weeks from today, the 1st respondent shall consider such application and take decision thereon within a period of six months from the date of its receipt. I make it clear that I have not expressed any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's claim for assignment.
