Hon’ble Pankaj Purohit, J.

This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking a writ of mandamus commanding the respondent to expedite and decide the pending memorial of the petitioner dated 30.05.2026.

2.

It is contended by learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner was working with the respondent-L.I.C. as an agent since 09.12.1993. On a query some dispute arose regarding payment to be made to one policy holder. Allegedly the petitioner did not disclose the disease of which the policy holder was suffering. After his death it was found that the policy holder before taking of the policy was suffering from throat cancer. Consequently the agent of the petitioner was terminated on 22.12.2022. Feeling aggrieved by the said order, a departmental appeal was filed by the petitioner before the Zonal Manager, L.I.C. which too was dismissed on 03.04.2024.

3.

Now the petitioner has filed a memorial i.e., a statutory remedy available to the petitioner under Regulation 24 of L.I.C. Agent Regulation 2017 before the Chairman of L.I.C. on 30.05.2026.

4.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that for the last more than five months the same is pending disposal.

5.

Learned counsel for the petitioner made an innocuous prayer to this Court that if a direction is issued to the respondent-L.I.C. to decide the above mentioned memorial within a stipulated period, ends of justice would be met.

6.

Learned Senior Advocate for the respondent has no objection if such an order is passed by this Court.

7.

Accordingly writ petition is finally disposed of. Chairman of the L.I.C. is directed to decide the statutory memorial of the petitioner dated 30.05.2026 within a period of two months from the date of production of certified copy of this order, strictly, in accordance with law, by a reasoned and speaking order.
