Pius C. Kuriakose, J.—This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 by the Petitioner seeking police protection to visit his mother, who is said to be seriously ill and presently laid up in the house of Respondents 4 and 5. Sri.George Varghese, learned Counsel for Respondents 4 and 5 submitted that the Petitioner is always free to visit his mother, who is ailing, in the house of 4th Respondent. No police protection is necessary for that purpose. The counsel for the Petitioner Smt. Shalini submitted that since there is considerable bad blood between the Petitioner and his sisters, some protection should be given. It will not be safe for the Petitioner to visit the house of Respondents 4 and 5, for seeing his mother, who is in death bed, without protection.

2.

Under the above circumstances, we are inclined to dispose of this writ petition issuing the following directions:

1.

The Petitioner will have the permission of visiting his mother who is presently ailing in the house of the 4th Respondent atleast once in a week.

2.

The Petitioner shall approach the 3rd Respondent on the day when he wants to visit his mother informing the 3rd Respondent, of the time of the proposed visit. When such information is received by the 3rd Respondent, he shall depute one or two plain clothes policemen to the house of the 4th Respondent for accompanying the Petitioner. This arrangement shall continue unless modified by this Court.

3.

The 3rd Respondent will also personally enquire into the health condition of the mother of the Petitioner. If the enquiry reveals that the mother is in a sinking condition, he will make necessary arrangements so that the Petitioner is able to sit by the side of his mother during her last moments.
