T.R. Ramachandran Nair, J.—The petitioner is seeking revaluation of certain papers. The petitioner has completed the B. Tech. (Mechanical Engineering) course and while he was undergoing the course, he failed in Mechanics of Materials, Metrology & Instrumentation and Heat & Mass Transfer in VI Semester, Thermal Engineering-I in V Semester, Electrical Technology and Hydraulic Machines in IV semester and Strength of Materials in III Semester. Exts. P1 to P4 (a) are the copies of the application for revaluation and the receipts showing remittance of required fee. The petitioner has remitted the required fee on 10.04.2012 and it is submitted that 45 days from the date of publication of the result is over.

2.

Learned Standing Counsel for the University submitted that the direction by this Court in Nithya vs. Cochin University of Science and Technology (2012 (1) KLT 584) is to complete the revaluation within a period of 45 days from the last date of receipt of the application for revaluation. The apprehension expressed by the learned counsel for the petitioner is that if revaluation is not conducted before scheduling the next examination, the petitioner may have to appear again for the failed papers which will cause hardship to him. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that going by the information of the petitioner, the examination is scheduled in the last week of June 2012 or in the first week of July 2012.

In that view of the matter, the revaluation will be completed and the results will be conveyed to the petitioner expeditiously, at any rate, before the scheduled dates of the examinations for these semesters.

This writ petition is disposed of as above.
