Judgment
Antony Dominic, J.—In the Calicut University Union B Zone Arts Festival 2010, Petitioner participated in various items including Mohiniyattom. In Mohiniyattom, there was a rival contestant by name Parvathi Rajan. She appears to have secured the first place and the Petitioner was given the 3rd place.
Petitioner submits that just before the commencement of her performance, the father of the rival contestant slapped the Petitioner''s mother, which affected her performance. It is stated that appeal filed was rejected by Ext.P4 order. It is complaining of the above, the writ petition is filed. Allegation is also raised to the effect that the Judges were incompetent and that they were indifferent during the time when the Petitioner has performed.
As far as the allegation against the Judges and the rival contestant and her father is concerned, none of them are impleaded in the writ petition and, therefore, this Court will not be justified in taking cognizance of these allegations.
As far as the appeal filed by the Petitioner is concerned, allegation was that on account of the assault on her mother, her performance was affected, Standing Counsel for the University submits that the University did not receive any complaint on the issue of alleged assault. That apart, no criminal case is also registered against the assailant. In such circumstances, the rejection of the appeal cannot be interfered with based on the unsubstantiated allegations.
Writ petition is dismissed.
