Heard Mr. A. Sachikumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners.

According to the petitioners, they are the elected Board Members of the Managing Body of Manipur State Co-operative Union(MSCU). Sometime in

the year 2017, they were elected as Board Members of the State Cooperative Union and the private respondent was elected as the President of the

MSCU. The grievance of the petitioners is that the President of the MSCU did not function properly in accordance with Bye-Laws with the result that

the objectives sought to be achieved under the Bye-Laws could not be achieved. Accordingly, the petitioners submitted a requisition dated 21.02.2021

to the Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Manipur, Lamphelpat requesting him to convene a Special Meeting for consideration of No Confidence

Motion against the President. Despite the said requisition being submitted to the Registrar, Co-operative Societies by the petitioners, the Registrar, Co-

operative Societies has not taken any appropriate steps which compelled them to approach this Court by way of this Writ Petition.

When the matter is taken up for consideration, it has been submitted that the instant writ petition can be disposed of by issuing an innocuous order and

accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of with the direction that the Registrar, Co-operative Societies, Manipur, Lamphelpat shall consider the

said requisition and take appropriate action as quickly as possible in accordance with law.
