Judgment

This writ petition has been filed by the petitioners seeking police protection.
According to the petitioners, they had entered into an inter-community marriage. Therefore, they were afraid that they may be physically harmed
either by the respondent no.4, the father of the petitioner no.2, or by others.
By the order dated 01.10.2020, this Court had directed the Senior Superintendent of Police, Dehradun to coordinate with the subordinate officers of
Police, and to give suitable directions to the concerned SHO, to provide necessary protection to the petitioners as there was a threat perception at the
hands of the respondent no.4.
The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that, in pursuance of the said order, the police has provided protection to the petitioners; the
petitioners continue to live happily; even the respondent no.4, the father of the petitioner no.2, has accepted the marriage of both the petitioners.
Therefore, according to the learned counsel, this case has become infructuous. It is, hereby, dismissed as infructuous.
In sequel thereto, pending application, if any, stands disposed of.
