By way of present petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, petitioners are seeking issuance of direction to respondents No.2 and 3 to protect their life and liberty at the hands of respondents No.4 to 8.
Notice of motion.
On the asking of the Court, Mr. Tarun Aggarwal, Sr. DAG, Punjab, appears and accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents.
As per petitioners, they have married on 26.02.2024 against the wishes of respondents No.4 to 8, who happen to be the relatives of petitioner No.1 i.e. Sakeena Rani.
Both the petitioners claim themselves to be major stating that petitioner No.1-Sakeena Rani is 01.01.2002 born and petitioner No.2-Arshdeep Singh is 27.07.2000 born as per their Aadhar Cards.
Without commenting on the legality and validity of the marriage, I deem it appropriate to direct respondent No.2 to consider the representation dated 26.02.2024 (Annexure P-5) filed by the petitioners.
Keeping in view the fact that both the petitioners claim to have married, I think that if possible, respondent No.2 may call a meeting of the petitioners as well as respondents No.4 to 8 in his presence, so that the parties get rid off their ill feelings and live amicably.
The petition stands disposed off.
