1.

The appellant has filed the above writ petition, alleging that his sweet-heart is under the illegal detention of the 3rd respondent, her father. It is stated that their relationship commenced in the year 2018 when they were classmates at MSM College, Kayamkulam. After a long affair they decided to get married and made arrangements for the same. But suddenly every contact ceased and the petitioner apprehends that his sweet-heart is under illegal detention of her father and relatives for reason of their objection to the relationship.

2.

On admission we directed the 2nd respondent to get a statement of the alleged detenue through a Woman Police Officer without the presence of the parents or any family members. The 2nd respondent filed a memo along with a statement obtained from the alleged detenue.

3.

The alleged detenue admits that the petitioner was her classmate and they had a relationship which was not known to her relatives. Even after studies she was in constant touch with the petitioner. In fact, her relatives had fixed a marriage for her which did not fructify since she informed the prospective groom about her affair. She also informed her relatives who were against the marriage. However, she categorically states that she is not under any illegal detention and that though she had a relationship with the petitioner, she is now more concerned with her studies. It is further stated that, now she wants to continue her studies, get an employment and then think about marriage. We do not think that there is any illegal detention as alleged by the petitioner.

In the above circumstances we dismiss the writ petition without any order on costs.
