Judgment
S. Siri Jagan, J.—The Petitioner is working as a Sub Engineer in the Kerala State Electricity Board. Formerly he was working as a Wireman in the Prisons Department in the Central Prison, Kannur. On getting appointment in the KSEB, he got relieved from the Prisons Department and joined the Electricity Board. The Petitioner''s grievance in this writ petition is that the Department of Prisons has not forwarded his service book to the Electricity Board. The Petitioner, therefore, seeks the following relief:
issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order of direction, directing the Respondents 1 to 3 to release the Service Book of the Petitioner for production before the KSEB, the present employer of the Petitioner.
On 25.11.2010, the learned Government Pleader, on instructions, submitted that the service book of the Petitioner had been forwarded to the Chief Vigilance Officer of the Kerala State Electricity Board on 15.10.2010. Therefore, I directed the standing counsel for the KSEB to get instructions as to whether the same had been received. Today the standing counsel submits that the service book of the Petitioner has been received by the Electrical Division Office, Alappuzha. This is recorded and the writ petition is closed.
