The petitioners have filed this petition seeking a direction to the police authorities to take action against respondent Nos. 5 and 6 and to grant them protection as they have entered into marriage without the consent of petitioner No. 1''s parents. This Court by order dated 17.05.2012 have already issued a direction to the Superintendent of Police, Narsinghpur to the effect that in case the petitioners'' file a representation seeking protection, the same shall be considered by the authority and decide the same in accordance with law and to ensure that the petitioners are not harassed merely because they have solemnized inter-religion marriage.
It is stated that the case registered against the petitioner No. 2 is pending and a direction to the respondent authorities be issued to expedite the enquiry.
In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances and the statement of the learned counsel for the petitioners, the petitioner filed by the petitioner is disposed of with a direction to the respondent authorities to expedite the investigation in the criminal case pending against the petitioner No. 2 at an early date.
To enable the authorities to do so, a copy of the order passed today alongwith a copy of the petition be served upon the authorities by the petitioners.
With the aforesaid direction, the petition filed by the petitioners stands disposed of. C.C. as per rules.
