RAJ MOHAN SINGH, J.(ORAL)

Petitioners are Muslims by religion. They have approached this Court for issuance of necessary directions to the official respondents to protect their

lives and personal liberties from being invaded by the private respondents. They claimed themselves to be major and have contracted marriage on

31.3.2018 as per Muslim rites and ceremonies.

In the present context, they have relied upon documents viz Aadhar Cards (Annexures P-1 and P-2), Marriage Certificate (Nikahnama) (Annexure P-

3) and photographs of marriage (Annexure P-4).

They have also moved a representation to respondent No.2 on 31.03.2018.

Notice of motion to respondents No.1 to 3.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Rajiv Sharma, Standing counsel for U.T.Chandigarh accepts notice on behalf of State-respondents No.1 to 3.

At this stage, without meaning anything in respect of genuineness of the documents attached with this petition and in respect of validity of marriage

and respective ages of the parties, I deem it appropriate to ask respondent No.2 to have a fair look on the grievance of the petitioners.

Respondent No.2 would be at liberty to devise his/her own mechanism to ascertain the truth. He/she would also be at liberty to join the petitioners or

any other person acquainted with facts in issue and shall take appropriate action in accordance with law.

At this stage, without adverting to the merits of the case, I deem it appropriate to ask respondent No.2 to pass necessary order in accordance with law

without being influenced by any statement of fact made hereinabove.

This order shall not debar the official respondents from proceeding against any of the party in accordance with law in case they are involved in some

other case. It would be appreciated if the representation filed by the petitioners is decided within a period of one month from the date of receipt of

certified copy of this order.

Petition stands disposed of.
