T.R. Ramachandran Nair, J.—The petitioner is seeking for a correction of his date of birth recorded in the birth register. According to the petitioner, his correct date of birth is 09.07.1981 and in the birth register his date of birth is incorrectly recorded as 19.07.1981. Seeking for an appropriate correction of the same, the petitioner has filed Exhibit P7 application before the 1st respondent. The petitioner has also produced along with the application, Exhibit P1 is the certificate of birth from the hospital stating that the mother of the petitioner gave birth to a male baby on 09.07.1981 in the hospital. Exhibit P2 is the copy of the Baptism certificate showing the date of birth as 09.07.1981. Exhibit P3 is the true copy of the relevant page of the SSLC book, wherein also the date of birth is recorded as 09.07.1981. The same date is shown in Exhibit P4 certificate issued by the Karnataka State Nursing Council while awarding the Diploma in Nursing and Exhibit P5 is the copy of the passport showing the date of birth as 09.07.1981.

It is pointed out that the petitioner wants to join his wife who is working in Italy and there is urgency in the matter, as birth certificate is required for getting visa. Exhibit P7 is dated 29.6.2010.

Heard Shri P.K. Soyuz, the learned Counsel appearing for the 1st respondent.

There will be a direction to the 1st respondent to take a decision on Exhibit P7 application, after considering various certificates/materials produced by the petitioner and appropriate decision will be taken and communicated to the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of production of a copy of this judgment.

The Writ Petition is disposed of as above. No costs.
