Judgment
V. Jagannathan
Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Pleader for the respondent-State. The petitioners are the brother-in-law and mother-in-law of the deceased Shashikala. The allegations are under sections 498A of IPC r/w 3 and 4 of the D.P. Act and the deceased committed suicide by setting herself on fire.
Learned counsel for the petitioner seeks bail on the ground that the deceased has left behind her two children and there is no one to look after the said children. Taking the above said aspect into account and also on a perusal of the statement of the deceased, the only reason that incline this court to grant bail to the 2nd petitioner is that she is a woman and hence the following order is passed.
The petitioner shall be released on bail on her furnishing personal bond for Rs.56,,000/- with two sureties for the likesum to the satisfaction of the trial court.
She shall not tamper with the evidence and shall not give threat to the witnesses in any manner.
She shall not hamper the investigation.
She shall mark her attendance before the concerned police station on the 15th and 30th of every month between 10.00 a.m. and 5.00 pm
The petition is rejected as far as the 1st petitioner is concerned.
