Leaned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is confining the prayer in this petition to afford an opportunity of hearing before taking punitive action against him. He further submits that after the enquiry proceedings, the petitioner had been called for personal hearing by the competent authority but the hearing could not take place and the proceedings have not been finalized till date.

Issue notice to the respondents.

At the asking of the Court, Mr.T.P.S. Chawla, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

Heard. The limited prayer of the petitioner is to afford an opportunity of hearing. Personal hearing would also be in consonance with the principles of natural justice. Consequently, the petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 that in the event of the disciplinary proceedings not being finalized till date, he shall afford an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner before taking final decision/action in the matter.
