M.M. Punchhi, J.—This is an application for anticipatory bail by Ram Chander Madhia, former Chairman of Haryana Public Service Commission. It is alleged that a vigilance inquiry is pending against him on the allegation that while in office, he had induced one Chaman Lal to give him a sum of Rs. 70,00/- for admitting him in Haryana Civil Service (Executive Branch). The incident allegedly relates to the year 1982. Apprehensive of his arrest on an outcome of the inquiry, he has approached this Court for anticipatory bail and has obtained an interim direction on September 16, 1986.

2.

Learned Counsel for the State submit that no case has been registered against the Petitioner so far but otherwise he does not dispute that a vigilance inquiry is pending against the Petitioner. Learned Counsel further says that as a result of the inquiry, a case may be registered against the Petitioner eventually. In these circumstances, it is ordered that in case an F. I. R. is registered against the Petitioner, then the investigating agency shall give a week''s time to the petitione enabling him to approach the Court for obtaining anticipatory bail. Having regard to the high office the Petitioner held, the police must ensure that he clearly has the requisite period of one week to approach the Court. This petition is thus decided accordingly.
