This petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of directions to respondent No.1 and 2 seeking protection as the life and liberty of the petitioners are at stake, who have been married against the wishes of their parents
Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that representations dated 11.06.2023 and 12.06.2023 were sent to respondent No.2 but no action has been taken on the said representations filed by the petitioners.
After going through the contents of the representations, the same seem to be vague as no specific details have been mentioned.
Learned State counsel also submits that the representations which were sent by the petitioners are addressed to Superintendent of Police, District Faridabad, whereas there is no such officer in Faridabad and the Commissionerate of Police is the concerned authority to deal with such issues.
Faced with this, learned counsel for the petitioners prays that keeping in view the urgency, the present writ petition be treated as representation.
Prayer is allowed.
In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of with the direction to the Commissionerate of Police, Faridabad to look into the grievances of the petitioners and to treat the petition as representation in accordance with law.
