By way of this writ petition, the petitioner seeks a writ of mandamus to the authorities of the State of Haryana to grant her compensation under the Haryana Victim Compensation Scheme, 2013, promulgated under Notification dated 03.04.2013 issued by the Home Department of the Government of Haryana. This compensation was sought in relation to the rape committed on the petitioner's daughter and her death by suicide thereafter.

Admittedly, the petitioner did not approach the authorities or submit any representation in relation to her claim under the aforestated scheme. Without doing so, it is not open to the petitioner to complain of inaction on the part of the authorities or seek a writ of mandamus directly.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of leaving it open to the petitioner to submit a representation in terms of the aforestated scheme.

In the event she does so, the authorities concerned shall consider the same on its own merits and in accordance with law expeditiously.

No order as to costs.
