This application is filed by a third party seeking to be impleaded as the fifteenth defendant.

In the affidavit in support of the application, it is stated that the proposed fifteenth defendant has obtained the copyrights in the sound recordings and underlying lyrical, visual, musical, dramatic work for the songs from the cinematographic films Azhagi, Peranbum Perungobamum for worldwide territories. It is also stated that such rights have been acquired by the proposed fifteenth defendant in the movie Mayakannadi for the overseas territories. Since the sound recordings of the said cinematographic films form the subject of this suit, the applicant asserts that he is a necessary or a proper party.

Learned counsel for the plaintiff has no objection to the applicant being impleaded.

Upon examining the basis on which the applicant seeks to be impleaded and taking note of the no objection of the plaintiff, this application is allowed as prayed for. Consequently, the plaintiff is directed to carry out the amendments in the plaint on or before 04.02.2026 and serve a copy of the amended plaint on the other parties within a week therefrom.
