These original petitions are filed by the Punjab National Bank, which is the applicant in OA Nos. 272/08 and 268/09 on the file of the Debts Recovery Tribunal, Ernakulam. The grievance in the original petitions is that the original applications were heard by the Tribunal on 24/5/10 and 19/7/10 respectively and that orders are still not pronounced. It is complaining about the delay in the matter, these original petitions are filed seeking a direction to the Tribunal to pronounce orders forthwith. Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and in the light of the above averments contained in the original petitions, I am of the view that the petitioner Bank is fully justified in its complaint. If the applications have been heard on the aforesaid dates, there is no justification for the inordinate delay that is already caused.
In such circumstances, these original petitions are disposed of directing that the Tribunal shall pass orders in the original applications mentioned above at any rate within 6 weeks from today.
Petitioner will produce a copy of this judgment before the Tribunal, which shall comply with the aforesaid direction.
