The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to revise the list of shortlisted candidates.
The petitioner claims that he applied for the posts of Income Tax Inspector and Tax Assistant. The application was sent through speed post. He is an international Volleyball player. He has won many medals in the international competitions. He is eligible for the post but respondent has shortlisted less meritorious candidates.
Mr. Piyush Khanna, Sr. Panel Counsel submits that application of the petitioner was received in the office of Chief Commissioner, Income Tax, Chandigarh. The representation of the petitioner has been referred to a duly constituted committee. The decision of the committee would be intimated to the petitioner within two weeks from today.
In the wake of statement of learned counsel for the respondent-UOI, the present petition stands disposed of.
