The petitioner has approached this Court seeking issuance of writ in the nature of Mandamus so as to direct the official respondents to rectify the anomaly in the pay-scale of the petitioner so as to bring at par with the pay drawn by his junior i.e. respondent No.4.
At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner restricts his prayer for issuance of a direction to respondent No.3-Additional Director General of Police, PAP, Jalandhar Cantt. to consider and dispose of the legal notice dated 02.7.2023 (Annexure P-8) in accordance with law.

On the asking of this Court, Mr. Inderpreet Singh Kang, AAG, Punjab, who is present in the Court accepts notice.
Having regard to the limited prayer made on behalf of the petitioner, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3-Additional Director General of Police, PAP, Jalandhar Cantt., to consider and dispose of the legal notice dated 02.7.2023 (Annexure P-8) in accordance with law expeditiously preferably within a period of 3 months from today.
A copy of this order along with copy of legal notice dated 02.7.2023 (Annexure P-8) be sent to respondent No.3-Additional Director General of Police, PAP, Jalandhar Cantt., for necessary compliance.
