The petitioner is pursuing education under Distance Education Scheme offered by the 1st respondent University. It is stated that he has completed the 1st semester and the 2nd semester and as far as the 2nd semester is concerned, he has stated that he has passed two of the papers and is awaiting results of the supplementary exam for the other two papers. The petitioner has approached this Court since he was not able to remit the fee for the 3rd semester since the website indicated that there is no regular registration found for the semester. 13.11.2023 is stated to be the last date of acceptance of the fee.
The Standing Counsel for the University on instructions submits the the petitioner had duly registered for the 1st and 2nd semesters but has not registered for the 3rd and 4th semesters and it is only since there is no registration that he is not being able to pay the fee. The period for online registration is already over on 09.11.2023.
In the above circumstances, this writ petition is disposed of directing the petitioner to approach the 1st respondent and explain the situation and get registered for the 3rd and 4th semesters and thereafter pay the fee for the examination for the 3rd semester. If the petitioner approaches the 1st respondent on or before 13.11.2023, his grievance shall be considered with due compassion and orders issued.
