In view of the note put up by the Deputy Registrar (Judicial) we deem it appropriate to recall that part of the order dated 10.5.2023, whereby appropriate action has been directed to be initiated against the erring official(s)/officer(s). However, the concerned official(s)/officer(s) are directed to be careful in future.
Having gone through the status report, we are not at all satisfied with the investigation. It was vide order dated 28.10.2020 that this Court directed the 3rd respondent to carry out further investigation by appointing an officer, not below the rank of Dy. S.P.
3 Evidently, a period of more than 2 ½ years has elapsed, yet the investigation has not been taken to its logical end.
In the given facts and circumstances of the case, we deem it appropriate to dispose of this petition by directing the respondents to complete the investigation, in all respects, as expeditiously as possible, and in no event later than 31.8.2023.
Accordingly, the present petition is disposed of, so also the pending application(s), if any.
For compliance, to come up on 6.9.2023.
