Judgment
Heard Mr. Prabir Kumar Das, the petitioner in person and Mr. Debakanta Mohanty, Addl. Govt. Advocate for the State-Opposite Parties.
The petitioner files this writ petition seeking directions to the opposite party Nos.1 and 2 to take necessary step within a stipulated time for ensuring the appointment of Chairperson and five Members of the Odisha State Food Commission by filling up of the vacancies in conformity with Section 16 of the National Food Security Act, 2003.
Mr. Debakanta Mohanty, learned Additional Government Advocate for the State-Opposite Parties contended that the State Government has already filled up the post of Chairperson and five Members of the Committee. The State Government has appointed Mr. Abanikanta Sahoo, as the Chairperson and Mr. Dayanidhi Dash, Sanjukta Mohanty, Akshaya Kumar Behera, Priyabrata Samantaray and Premashila Kerketa as the Members of the Odisha State Food Commission.
In view of the above, the relief sought for by the petitioner in the present writ petition has been granted.
The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. An urgent certified copy of this order be issued as per rules.
