Judgment
S.Srimathy, J
The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 17.10.2025 for the offences punishable under Sections 8(c) r/w 20(b)(ii)(C)and 29(1) of NDPS Act, in Crime No.363 of 2025 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.
The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found illegal custody of 22.07 kgs Ganja. Hence, the complaint.
3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the father of the accused died on 19.10.2025. However, the final rites were not properly conducted. Therefore, the learned counsel seeks permission of this Court to conduct the final rites and the same is scheduled to be conducted on 21.01.2026.
4.Considering the above circumstances, interim bail is granted. The prosecution is directed to grant necessary escort for a period from 21.01.2026 at 10.00 a.m, to 21.01.2026 at 05.30 p.m. The prosecution shall ensure that the petitioner shall report before the jail authorities at 05.30 p.m. on 21.01.2026 without fail. The escort charges will be bearable by the petitioner.
Post the matter on 22.01.2026 for reporting compliance.
