The petitioner has approached this Court challenging Ext.P9 order passed by the 1st respondent rejecting the application for renewal of his gun licence. Against Ext.P9, the petitioner has preferred Ext.P13 appeal before the Land Revenue Commissioner, the additional 3rd respondent, under Section 18 of the Arms Act, 1959. When this writ petition came up for further consideration today, the petitioner submits that a direction may be issued to the additional 3rd respondent to consider Ext.P13 appeal within a time frame.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader.

In the facts and circumstances of the case, there will be a direction to the additional 3rd respondent to consider Ext.P13 appeal, as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. Till the appeal is disposed of, the petitioner is permitted to retain the pistol for which renewal of licence is sought for.

The writ petition is disposed of as above.
