Learned Additional Advocate General has stated that the Government order dated 9.3.2011 has been issued for taking care of the aforesaid situation regarding prevention of atrocities against women and for the said purpose, counselling centres have been set up in Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Agra, Lucknow, Allahabad and Meerut. He further states that the Government is too sensitive on this issue and is taking all possible measures which are required to control the crime graph in respect of the women particularly the rape cases. It has also been stated that there are various counselling centres available in the Mahila Police Thana.

4.

How far these counselling centres would be effective is to be considered after the response is filed by the State Government. We do not want to deliberate much more at this stage but we direct the State Government to file counter affidavit within three weeks. Petitioner may file rejoinder affidavit within a week thereafter.

List immediately after expiry of four weeks.
