Copies of the writ petition have been supplied to the learned Counsel for the respondents.

The petitioner has approached this Court for issuance of direction to give admission to the petitioner in the technical course preferably in Textile Technology or any other course in any of the polytechnics of Haryana Government as per standing of the petitioner in the merit list of the entrance examination held by the respondents. It appears from the record that initially the petitioner, after holding of an entrance examination, opted for the course of fashion technology. However, the said course was only available in women polytechnics and as such was not offered to the petitioner. Since the petitioner had merely opted for the aforesaid course under a mistaken impression, therefore, after the denial of the aforesaid course the petitioner claims that he was required to be offered another course. However, the petitioner has been denied admission on account of the fact that he had merely opted for the course of fashion technology.

From the perusal of the record, we find that a representation dated August 21, 2006 (Annexure P.2) has been filed by the petitioner, which remains unresponded.

Keeping in view the peculiar facts and circumstances of the case, we direct the Director, Technical Education, Haryana, respondent No. 2 to take a final decision on the aforesaid representation (Annexure P.2) within a period of 10 days from the date a certified copy of this order is received, by passing a detailed and speaking order. While passing the aforesaid order, the background of the case shall be taken into consideration by the Director, respondent No. 2.

A copy of the order be given dasti on payment of usual charges.
