Applicant – Smt. Parwati is in judicial custody under Section 304B of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and Section 3/4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961 in connection with the First Information Report No.195 of 2023, registered at police station Kotwali Nagar, District Haridwar.

Heard Mr. Himanshu Pal, learned counsel for the applicant and Mrs. Mamta Joshi, learned Brief Holder for the State on Short Term Bail Application (IA No.4 of 2023).

Present Short Term Bail Application has been filed by the applicant on the ground that her son Navneet died on 23.08.2023.

Mr. Himanshu Pal, Advocate has sought 30 days for short term bail.

Mrs. Mamta Joshi, Brief Holder, submits that two weeks’ time will be appropriate for short term bail.

In the facts and circumstances of this case, this Court is inclined to grant short term bail to the applicant – Smt. Parwati for a period of two weeks from the date of her release, on furnishing her personal bond of Rs.30,000/- and furnishing two reliable sureties, in the like amount, to the satisfaction of the concerned court with the following conditions:-

(i) Applicant shall not directly or indirectly make any inducement, threat or promise to any person acquainted with the facts of this case;

(ii) Applicant shall surrender at once before the concerned court on expiry of the term of this short term bail, who will remand her to judicial custody.

The Short Term Bail Application (IA No.04 of 2023) is disposed of accordingly.
