Judgment

Applicant Parvinder Singh Rana is in judicial custody in Case Crime/FIR No.07 of 2022, under Sections 8/20 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, P.S. Jhiroli, District Bageshwar. He has sought short term bail on the ground that his sister is to marry.
Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record.
According to the applicant, there is no male member in his family; there is no one to look after his ailing mother. His sister is to marry on 27.11.2023, therefore, he may be granted short term bail.
Learned State counsel was required to get instructions in the matter. Learned State Counsel has confirmed that the applicant has no brother and marriage of his sister is scheduled for 27.11.2023. His sister and ailing mother are at home.
Without adverting to the merits, purely on humanitarian ground, this Court is of the view that the applicant may be enlarged on short term bail for a period of seven days from his release.
Let the applicant be released on short term bail for a period of seven days from the date of his release, subject to his furnishing a personal bond and two reliable sureties each of the like amount, to the satisfaction of the court concerned.
After expiry of the period of short term bail, the applicant shall surrender before the court concerned and an information shall be forwarded to this Court.
The short term bail application is allowed accordingly.
