In the present writ petition, the petitioner had challenged the action of respondent No.2 in declining to consider her case for appointment on the post of Head Mistress (in LDESM category).
A perusal in the facts in the writ petition would show that the reason for declining to consider the case of petitioner for appointment on the post of Head Mistress is that she had already availed the benefit of LDESH category earlier and as such, she is not held entitled to be considered on the post in question. This Court vide order dated 29.10.2025, had directed the respondents to produce the result of the petitioner and also to apprise the Court as to what were the marks obtained by the last selected candidate in the category in which the petitioner had applied.
Today, in a sealed envelop, the result of the petitioner has been produced. A perusal of the same would show that the petitioner has secured 172.50 marks.
Learned counsel for the respondents, on instructions from Mr. Sandeep Kumar, Senior Assistant o/o DSE, Punjab, submits that the last candidate selected in the petitioner's category had secured 206.50 marks.
Taking into consideration the fact that the petitioner has secured less marks than the last selected candidate, no relief can be granted to the petitioner. Accordingly, the present writ petition is dismissed.
The result of the petitioner is returned to the learned counsel in the envelop.
Pending application(s), if any, shall also stand(s) disposed of accordingly.
