Ahanthem Bimol Singh, J

Heard Mr. Tungrei Ngakang, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and Mr. Niranjan Sanasam, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

At the outset, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners No. 2 & 3 have filed separate representations both dated 08.09.2022 to the Commissioner/Secretary (Water Resource), Government of Manipur and other concerned officers of the State Government and that the said representations are still pending. The learned counsel further submitted that the petitioners will be satisfied for the time being if the present writ petition is disposed of by directing the Commissioner/Secretary (Water Resource), Government of Manipur, to consider the said representations on its own merit and in terms of the applicable law and to dispose of the same by issuing a speaking order within a stipulated period.

Mr. Niranjan Sanasam, learned GA appearing for the respondents fairly submitted that as the prayer of the petitioners is confined to the consideration and disposal of the representations submitted by the petitioners No. 2 & 3, he has no objection in disposing of the present writ petition as prayed for by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners.

In view of the submission made above, the Commissioner/Secretary (Water Resource), Government of Manipur, is hereby directed to consider the said representations both dated 08.09.2022 submitted by the petitioners No. 2 & 3 on its own merit and in terms of the applicable law and to dispose of the same by issuing a speaking order within a period of 3 (three) months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.

With the aforesaid direction, the present writ petition is disposed of.
