Heard Mr. P. Kataki, learned counsel for the applicant/appellant. Also heard Mr. B.B. Gogoi, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, Assam, appearing

for the State Respondent.

This interlocutory application is filed seeking suspension of the sentence imposed upon the applicant/appellant, vide judgment and order dated

23.04.2020 passed by the learned Special Judge-cum-Additional Sessions Judge, Sivasagar, in Special POCSO Case No.27/2018, convicting the

applicant/appellant and sentencing him to rigorous imprisonment for 10(ten) years and to pay a fine of Rs.10,000/- with default clause for offence

under section 4 of the POCSO Act. There is also an order for payment of compensation of Rs.3 lakhs by the appellant to the victim under Section

33(8) of the POCSO Act.

Issue notice to the respondents.

Since State Respondent No.1 has entered appearance through Mr. B.B. Gogoi, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, no formal notice need be served

upon Respondent No.1.

Issue notice upon Respondent No.2 under Registered Post with A/D as well as under ordinary process.

Steps be taken within three days.

This application shall be taken up along with the connected criminal appeal after receipt of the LCR and service of notice on respondent No.2.
