Jaichandren, J.—At this stage of the hearing of the writ petition, the learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the Petitioner had submitted that it would suffice, if the Petitioner is permitted to make an application to the first Respondent, for temporary electricity service connection to the premises said to be under his occupation, under Clause 4 of Rule 27 of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Distribution Code, 2004 and if the first Respondent is directed to dispose of the same, on merits and in accordance with law.

There is no representation on behalf of the second Respondent.

The learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the first Respondent has no objection for such an order being passed by this Court.

In view of the submissions made by the learned Counsels appearing on behalf of the Petitioner, as well as the first Respondent, the Petitioner is permitted to make an appropriate application to the first Respondent, under Clause 4 of Rule 27 of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Distribution Circle, 2004, and on such application being submitted, the first Respondent shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders thereon, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks thereafter, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the Petitioner, as well as to the second Respondent.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
