Augustine George Masih, J.—Petitioner has approached this Court with a grievance that petitioner has not been regularized in service with effect from the date of his appointment i.e. 21.10.1987 but has instead been regularized w.e.f. 31.12.1990. Counsel for the petitioner contends that he was granted the regularization vide order dated 12.02.1993. Thereafter, the petitioner has been representing the respondents all through for grant of his regularization from the date of his initial appointment and seniority as well but the respondents are not responding to the same. He accordingly prays that a direction may be issued to the respondents to decide the representations of the petitioner, copies of which have been appended along with the writ petition. The contention of the counsel for the petitioner cannot be accepted in the light of the judgment of the Supreme Court in the case of S.S. Rathore Vs. State of Madhya Pradesh, , wherein it has been held that the said issue cannot be raised up after an inordinate delay. Mere submission of representations by an employee cannot cover up the delay in approaching the Court. Especially in the light of the fact that the petitioner is claiming seniority and that too, has now approached the Court after a period of 18 years, the claim made by the petitioner cannot be accepted as settled situation cannot be permitted to be unsettled at this belated stage.

Finding no merit in the present writ petition, the same stands dismissed.
