Petitioner is a fair price shop licensee. His license was suspended, but, subsequently, the suspension order was revoked by District Magistrate,
Udham Singh Nagar vide order dated 15.06.2020.
Since the supply of food-grains to petitioner’s shop was not restored, even after revocation of suspension order, therefore, petitioner filed Writ
Petition (M/S) No. 2275 of 2020. The said writ petition was disposed of with a direction to District Magistrate, Udham Singh Nagar to take decision
on petitioner’s representation.
Since District Magistrate did not decide petitioner’s representation within the stipulated time, therefore, petitioner filed this Contempt Petition.
Today, Mr. J.S. Bisht, learned Standing Counsel appearing for respondent makes a statement at the bar that decision on petitioner’s
representation has been taken and thereafter, an order was passed by District Magistrate on 29.07.2021 providing that fair price shop of the petitioner
shall be restored. He has assured the Court that supply of food-grains and other items, to be distributed through public distribution system, shall be
restored to the petitioner, if not already restored, within a week.
In view of the above, Contempt Petition is closed. Contempt notice issued to respondent is hereby discharged.
