1) Issue notice.
Counsel for the respondent appears and accepts notice.
2) The relief sought in this petition reads as follows:
“A writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent to decide the representation dated 23.01.2023 (Annexure No. 3 to the writ petition) moved by the petitioner before the Executive Officer, Nagar Palika Parishad, Ramnagar, District Nainital as early as possible in accordance with law.”
3) Though the relief sought in the petition appears to be innocuous, in fact, the petitioner is seeking our seal of approval on the prayer made in the representation, which is to seek extension of the contractual period of 52 days, which, according to the petitioner, was the delayed period, during which the petitioner was not able to work the contract awarded to him by the respondent.
4) We cannot put our seal of approval on the relief sought by the petitioner in his representation. The representation made by the petitioner may be decided on its merits by the respondent.
5) Petition stands disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
