The petitioners are the two accused in Crime No.376/2021 of Valappad Police Station, Thrissur District.

According to the prosecution, on 1.5.2021 at about 3.00 p.m., they snatched a gold chain worn by a lady pedestrian and escaped in a motor cycle.

They met with an accident and were apprehended following the C.C. T.V. footage. They were arrested and a crime was registered alleging offence

under Section 392 read with 34 of I.P.C. The petitioners were arrested on 1.5.2021.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that, the petitioners are innocent, no one had seen committing such a crime by the petitioners and

nothing has been recovered from them. They are in custody for the last 60 days and are only 18 years old. They have no criminal antecedents to their

credit.

Learned Public Prosecutor also has no case that they have any criminal antecedents to their credit. They are in custody for the last 60 days and

therefore, there is no purpose in continuing their detention. They shall be released on bail subject to the following conditions:-

i) Petitioners shall execute bond for Rs.50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand only) each with two solvent sureties each for the like sum to the satisfaction of the

jurisdictional Court;

ii) They shall not try to contact or influence the witnesses or tamper with evidence;

iii) Petitioners shall not leave the country without permission of the jurisdictional court;

iv) They shall not involve in any crime during the period on bail;

v) Petitioners shall appear before the Investigating Officer/trial Court as and when required;

vi) Petitioners shall strictly abide the various guidelines issued by the State and Central Governments with respect to keeping of social distancing in the wake of

Covid 19 pandemic;

vii) If any of the above conditions are violated by the petitioners, the jurisdictional court will be a liberty to cancel the bail in accordance with law.

This bail application is allowed as above.
