Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned High Court.
It is submitted by the learned High Court Govt. Pleader that the petitioner has been convicted for the offences punishable under Section 307 of IPC
in S.C. No.877/2013 by the Judgment dated 25.05.2016 passed by the Court of the 69 th Addl. City Civil & Sessions Judge, Bengaluru (CCH-70) and
that he has been sentenced to undergo imprisonment for a period of five years. In that view of the matter, the learned counsel for the petitioner prays
that the petition may be disposed with a direction to the trial court to expedite the trial.
The submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner is placed on record. Accordingly, the petition is dismissed. Dismissal of the petition shall
not come in the way of trial court expediting the hearing and disposal of the case in S.C. No.1935/2018. At any rate the trial court and prosecution
shall endeveour to expedite and dispose off the case within a period of 18 months from the date of receipt of the certified copy of this order.
Petition stands ordered accordingly.
